TIMELINE

       Paleolithic àNeolithic àAncient àClassical àModern

Paleolithic: Paleolithic Period, also spelled Palaeolithic Period, also called Old Stone Age, ancient cultural stage, or level, of human development, characterized by the use of rudimentary chipped stone tools.

Neolithic: "Neolithic, also called New Stone Age, final stage of cultural evolution or technological development among prehistoric humans. It was characterized by stone tools shaped by polishing or grinding, dependence on domesticated plants or animals, settlement in permanent villages, and the appearance of such crafts as pottery and weaving.  The Neolithic stage of development was attained during the Holocene Epoch (the last 11,700 years of Earth history). The starting point of the Neolithic is much debated, with different parts of the world having achieved the Neolithic stage at different times, but it is generally thought to have occurred sometime about 10,000 BCE. During that time, humans learned to raise crops and keep domestic livestock and were thus no longer dependent on hunting, fishing, and gathering wild plants. Neolithic cultures made more-useful stone tools by grinding and polishing relatively hard rocks rather than merely chipping softer ones down to the desired shape."

Ancient: Ancient history as a term refers to the aggregate of past events from the beginning of writing and recorded human history and extending as far as post-classical history. The phrase may be used either to refer to the period of time or the academic discipline.
The span of recorded history is roughly 5,000 years, beginning with the Sumerian cuneiform script, with the oldest coherent texts from about 2600 BC. Ancient history covers all continents inhabited by humans in the period 3000 BC – AD 500.

Classical: Could only find information on classical period between 1700 and 1800's, mostly talking about music.

Modern: The Early Modern Times lasted from the end of the 15th century to the Industrial Revolution at the end of the 18th century, circa 1450/92 to 1750/92. Modern Times are the period from Enlightenment and the 18th century until today.

Cosmic: Relating to the cosmos and its phenomena, vastness, material universe outside of Earth.

Gaiac: Could not find informtation.

Ecozoic: "It was in the early 1980s that these ideas coalesced in his term “Ecozoic.” This was his way of marking the end of a geological era in which thousands of species were disappearing each year amidst the industrial-technological bubble of resource extraction. He observed that scientists were telling us that we are in the midst of an extinction period. Nothing this devastating had occurred since the dinosaurs went extinct sixty-five million years ago and the Cenozoic era began. But rather than leaving his audience in despair, he used the term Ecozoic to name that emerging period in which humans would recover their creative orientation to the world."

From my perspective, even though I couldn't find information regarding the Gaiac era, I believe that Cosmic and Ecozoic should most definitely be involved in the timeline.  I find that they make up a massive part of these eras, because they embody earth prior to any human being being on it.  Eco, as in ecosystem, is a major part of human creation, growth and important environmental factors that have impacted who we are today.  In my eyes, this is how the timeline should be in order:

Cosmic -- Paleolithic -- Neolithic -- Ancient -- Classical -- Modern -- Ecozoic
(Left Gaiac out, because I couldn't find diddly on it!)
